Meet Dr. Gutierrez

Dear Parents and Caregivers:

Among my many mentors throughout my career, I owe special gratitude to two local professionals. One is Mr. Marvin Baker, my high school biology teacher, who helped steer my career aspirations away from the toe shoes and pretty tutus of a ballerina in the direction of the world of science. The other is the late Dr. Lauro Guerra, who took wonderful care of our family and inspired me to pursue my dreams at a time when there were no female doctors in McAllen. So ultimately I have both of them, among many others, to thank for the opportunity of becoming your child’s pediatrician.

Born and raised in McAllen, Texas, I have recently returned to live in McAllen with my young daughter, Tory, and love once again being near my family.

I am Board Certified in Pediatrics and have been in practice since 1986. Graduating with honors from Rice University in 1978, I received my MD from Harvard Medical School in 1982. I then completed a surgical internship at Parkland Memorial Hospital in Dallas and a pediatric residency at Boston Children’s Hospital.

I have worked in a wide range of practice settings and have taught medical students and pediatric residents. I volunteer my time at the Hope Center providing pediatric care to disadvantaged families and serve on the Board of Directors at the Children’s Advocacy Center of Hidalgo County.

It is my true pleasure to bring the services of my unique practice to support the health and well-being of your children.

ladybugIn good health,
